This was an exhibit called the 'Cloaca'. The artist basically created a synthetic, mechanical, and working digestive system that mimics what happens in our bodies.
You actually feed this machine food on the left. The food falls beneath the bowl into a grinder (the mouth), before in gets transported into the different containers which act as the different digestion stages in the body. It uses all the same chemicals you find in our body.
It actually poops too. There are scheduled feeding times and pooping times.
Maybe the most bizarre thing we've ever seen, but you can't help but have your attention drawn to it. Crazy!
